We had Namaste install solar panels on our house 3 1/2 years ago. A neighbor of ours had had a good experience with them. The system is supplying over 90% of our total electricity use, which… includes an all-electric car, plus a plug-in hybrid. The installation process was simple. They did all the leg work, we just had to sign some documents.More recently, we’ve had some transient problems in the panels that trigger the inverter to shut down until we reboot it and tell it to retest. Namaste has been out twice, no charge, to inspect the system and provide data to the panel manufacturer. They will replace any defective panels completely under warranty, including all labor, at no cost to us. Much better customer service and warranty coverage than just about anything you can buy these days!The latest IPCC report is saying that we’d better get busy reducing fossil fuel use NOW, and the 30% federal tax rebates start dropping in 2021. We’d highly recommend contacting Namaste sooner rather than later.——–Adddendum 2023: We had Namaste install 24 solar panels in 2015, and gave them a 5-star review. In order to offset increased electricity usage from a new electric heat pump, they recently installed another 14 panels. Gary, the design engineer, was a pleasure to work with. He came up with a layout that accommodated our desire to have a wide enough path to various parts of the roof without compromising much efficiency. They started the work a few weeks earlier than we expected, even though they had to rake snow off our roof to do so. They asked us if it would be okay for the crew to disappear early the second day in order to help another crew finish up, which we had no problems with. And then later that day yet another crew had finished early, so they came to our house to make a few more hours of progress. They also cleaned pine needles from the gutters near the previously installed panels. The system has worked perfectly, some days producing more electricity than the larger, better oriented older array—the new panels use microinverters and are much more tolerant of partial shading due to snow that has not completely slid off.We would definitely use them again, except they’ve already covered all good spots on our roof with panels :).read more

I wanted to get solar as electric prices keep going up and there are great tax breaks right now. I investigated three companies. Namaste was slightly more than the other two, as far as I could tell. … The other two gave me fantastical scenarios I suspected were overly optimistic. They also were not sure what the technology being used was, e.g. type of panel, inverter type etc… Namaste quickly answered every question I had – and they were technical questions.Namaste said what everything would cost up front and never wavered. They were incredibly flexible with the financing. I gave Namaste rave reviews for installing my rooftop solar panels a couple of years ago – they did an awesome job. However, half of my panels quit working in June and it took a couple of weeks to… connect with service department who told me there was a service backlog of 6-8 weeks due to COVID. Ok, not a great answer but understandable. Fast forward 7 weeks since that conversation – not a peep or return phone call even though I have called every week and tried to escalate the problem. I just want to know when my panels will be fixed. I spoke to receptionist last week and week before and she promised to “get it to someone to call me back” even though “service Dept has been slammed”. I understand the limitations this virus environment is creating to keep employees safe – but customer service shouldn’t be impacted as they can make calls from anywhere. I am actually afraid they are struggling to keep doors open since I can’t seem to get any response. It is beyond frustrating. ****follow up: after I posted the initial review, I received call from manager of service, very apologetic. Service within the week and issue resolved.********2021 update – I had great customer service this time. I think it was just the upset of Covid with my prior experience. Highly recommend!read more
