Customer Spotlight: Genevieve G.

Genevieve is a two-time Namaste Solar alumna, getting her second system from us installed in 2025. In this interview, she speaks candidly about her experience with us and why solar is an investment she feels good about.

What inspired you to start thinking about solar?

I’ve always thought it was a great idea. I mean the sun is just constantly bearing down and providing all this energy. And if you can harness that, why wouldn’t you? And it’s cool how it pays for itself. I just think it’s a smart thing to do long-term. They’re really durable. With my first solar system from Namaste Solar, we had to replace the roof at my last house twice. With the panels, you guys took them out and reinstalled them both times. They were fine. So yeah, I think it’s important. There’s so many things that I don’t do well when it comes to the earth and the environment. But this one just seems like it’s important if and as a homeowner, if I can do it, I want to do it.

What was your decision-making process for going solar?

I was a pain to Tristan. I was totally a flaky customer because I was like, “I want it, I want it, I want it.” And then I’d need to talk to some friends because I’m not great with finances and they are. But he was so patient with me. I don’t even know how many times we met before I finally signed the paperwork. He was really great. This house is a 1950s house, and the solar panels are one thing I did as far as energy efficiency upgrades.

What made you choose Namaste Solar?

This installation was my second one with Namaste Solar. The first time, I talked to three companies, including you. The roof in that house had such a steep pitch that the other two companies said they wouldn’t install on it. Your installers look like rock climbers when they’re up there with their harnesses and such. You had no problem installing on that roof. Beyond that, I liked that you’re employee-owned. And everyone at Namaste Solar is super knowledgeable, and it’s a really professional group.

How has solar positively impacted you?

It feels good to do it, first of all. And I’m proud to have them on my house. It’s a positive thing. And my kids love it.

What was your experience like working with us?

It was great. Like I said, everyone was professional, knowledgeable, and easy to talk to. Everyone was so easy to work with. Certainly very customer friendly and focused.

And again, Tristan was amazing. The amount of hand holding was above and beyond. That’s not going to happen everywhere. I imagine a lot of other contractors are good with selling and installing solar panels but not helping someone through the process at the level that he did or answering questions that they’ve already answered before.

If you were recommending someone explore the benefits of solar in three sentences, what would you say?

It’s an easy thing to do. Namaste Solar is a great partner. And it’s well worth it for the environment.
