Namaste Solar Impact ESA 

The Namaste Solar Impact ESA is a prepaid Energy Services Agreement adapted from a financing model that has been successfully used in commercial solar for years. It gives homeowners access to savings that are not available through a traditional cash purchase, whether you choose solar alone or pair it with battery storage. Unlike a traditional long-term lease, the Impact ESA is designed with a clear path to ownership: you make one upfront payment for the initial five-year term and have your first opportunity to purchase the system in Year 6. If you are not ready to buy, you can continue with low, fixed monthly payments and a guaranteed 0% annual escalator.

Commercial solar tax incentives require an eligible commercial entity to own the system during the initial five-year period. Namaste Solar Impact uses those incentives to reduce your upfront cost, while you receive all the energy the system produces from day one. Beginning in Year 6, you have the option to purchase the system or continue the ESA with a low, fixed monthly payment.

There is no credit check or personal tax liability requirement. Eligibility is based primarily on whether your home and proposed solar or solar-plus-battery system meet the program’s technical requirements. A non-commissioned Namaste Solar advisor will evaluate your property, energy needs, and system design and explain whether the Impact ESA is a good fit.

Beginning in Year 6, you can purchase the system at its depreciated fair market value, as determined by an independent third-party assessor, less the amount credited from your upfront payment. This is different from some solar offers marketed as “no-cost,” where homeowners may later face an unexpected purchase price or find that the cost of ownership was not clearly explained at the outset.

Or, you can continue the ESA with fixed monthly payments and a 0% annual escalator, so your payment will not increase. While utility rates climb every year, your solar payment will never go up.

Your Namaste Solar advisor will explain both options and the purchase-price methodology before you sign, so you understand how the agreement works from the beginning.

Namaste Solar is contractually responsible for all maintenance, monitoring, and production guarantees during the initial 5-year term. Namaste Solar will remain your trusted solar partner throughout the life of your system, whether you decide to own it or continue with the ESA.  

If you sell your home during the initial five-year term, the ESA can easily be transferred to the new homeowner. Because the initial term is prepaid, there are no credit checks or monthly payment transfers required for the buyer.  

After year five, if you’ve already fully purchased the system, it transfers with the home just like any other home improvement.
