This Lakewood home installed its first 3 kW solar system in 2007 from a different installer. When that system needed a new inverter, Richard chose Namaste Solar for the repair and a 4.1 kW system expansion. The old system is now working properly, and old and new are operating side by side.

The household also has an EV which they charge using their solar systems. There was a period of time between the repair being fixed where they were charging the EV using grid power. During that time, their electricity went up between $50 and $60 per month. Since they’ve gotten the repair and system expansion, they enjoy no monthly cost for EV charging.

“If you look at the things that we are experiencing as a society, as a human race, climate change is going to have a larger and larger impact in the future. At 77, I won’t see the worst of it. But our grandkids are going to experience much more than we have now. Serious weather events, in my belief, are going to increase because of climate change. When I die, my home will be sold. And that rooftop solar is going to be working long into the future as long as it’s maintained.”
