TerraForm Power hired Namaste Solar for the design, procurement, and installation of the 113kW PV system for Kohl’s in Golden, CO. TerraForm and Kohl’s entered into a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA), whereby Kohl’s pays an agreed upon rate for the solar electricity that offsets their utility bill. Kohl’s takes advantage of Xcel’s solar specific rate SPVTOU, which allows them to benefit from reduced demand rates.
This system will produce 170MWh in year one, the equivalent to the carbon sequestered by 157 acres of US forests in one year.
