Namaste Solar was selected to develop and install a 113 kW ground-mounted solar PV system for the Southern California Vipassana Center, a facility that hosts and teaches the tenents of Vipassana meditation. We worked directly with the Center’s staff and volunteer consultants through the planning and construction phases, which included utility usage and offset analysis, SCE interconnection application processes, and local AHJ permitting. Per the Center’s instructions, the array was designed to offset the Center’s usage by 95%, saving the Center about $12,000 the first year. By instructing the Center to change the rate tariff to Option R, they were able to realize an additional 45% savings. Namaste Solar completed the project, located just north of Joshua Tree National Park, in July of 2017.
