The Namasté Way

Our Mission

Namasté Solar’s mission is to propagate the responsible use of solar energy, pioneer conscientious business practices, and create holistic wealth for ourselves and our community.

Conscientious Business Practices

How we define conscientious business practices:

• Prioritize “doing the right thing” above all else

• Contribute to social justice and positive social change

• Contribute to a healthier natural environment

• Benefit all stakeholders equitably (Holistic Wealth)

Pillars of Co-Ownership

Our Pillars provide the fundamental framework for how we uphold Co-Ownership. Just as a building requires pillars in order to remain stable and prevent collapse, our company relies on this foundation when stressed by external and internal loading.

COOPERATIVE OWNERSHIP: We each own an equal voting share in our company.

DEMOCRATIC DECISION-MAKING: We participate in decision-making on a one-person, one-vote basis.

EXTREME TRANSPARENCY: We practice open book management and hold open meetings.

What’s in a Name?

Chosen by our three founders, Blake Jones, Ray Tuomey, and Wes Kennedy, the Sanskrit word Namasté has important meaning. Used as a traditional Sanskrit greeting of respect for millennia, the word recognizes the interdependence of all living things. Our founders chose this word to represent our company values and for its unique ability to differentiate us from other companies.

More about our Community Initiatives.

It’s more important than ever to be aware of the interconnectedness between people and the environment. The health of the planet depends on this global awareness and finding affordable solutions to the current energy crisis. Namasté Solar knows that bringing renewable resources into homes and businesses now will make a direct, positive impact for future generations.

Core Values

We value the unique gifts and perspectives that each individual contributes to our company; no one of us is as smart as all of us.

We think and act like business owners and proactively engage in co-creating our company’s success.

We practice and encourage frank, open, honest (FOH) communication.

Namastaliens like to play and have fun together, and we’re fond of engaging in pranks and tom-foolery.

We prioritize long-term over short-term thinking in all that we do.

We take our responsibilities seriously and hold ourselves and each other accountable.

We take ownership of our own and other stakeholders’ safety.

We measure profit and success holistically.

We foster learning and innovation while being open to taking risks and learning from our mistakes.

We seek to holistically balance the interests of our Customers, our Investors, our Community, our Company, Ourselves, and the Earth.
